Sophie Waite
Senior Consultant
Sophie joined the Heritage and Townscape team at its inception in November 2021 as a graduate, and has worked up to a senior consultant role. With a background in historic research and an established knowledge of the historic environment, she has both supported on and taken the lead on a wide range of heritage and townscape projects in London and across the country, including large estate regenerations and tall building schemes, developments within conservation areas, alterations to listed buildings, including schools and police stations, and works to curtilage listed structures, such as a former school building in the grounds of a grade II former workhouse. She has also assisted on and produced several Due Diligence reports concerning the potential purchase of listed buildings.
Prior to Smith Jenkins, Sophie worked at JLL within the Heritage and Townscape team and has also worked for Waverley Borough Council to support their conservation officers, as well as volunteering with a number of museums, including Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. Sophie holds a BA(hons) in Ancient and Medieval History and an MA in Early Modern History, both from the University of Birmingham. Since joining, she has gained IHBC Affiliate membership status.
