Sainsbury's, Shenley Church End, Milton Keynes

LPA: Milton Keynes City Council

Client: Frontier Estates

The proposal was for a new 30,000 sq ft supermarket in Shenley Church End Local Centre in Milton Keynes to replace a vacant and redundant swimming pool.

Planning permission was granted and the project, delivered by Frontier Estates, was carefully developed in consultation with Milton Keynes Council, Parish Council, and The Parks Trust as adjacent landowners. Consultation also took place with local residents and ward Councillors.

The principal planning issues related to loss of the existing facility, scale of retail floorspace, design, landscaping and highways having regard to the adjacent land uses including a large secondary school.
